At Neat we are on a mission to reduce plastic waste. We were frustrated by the lack of solutions to the single use plastic crisis. We believe that people and the planet deserve better. So, we created Neat; beautiful cleaning products that perform brilliantly and cut down on waste. No single-use plastic and no need to ship water around the world. A refillable, stylish bottle designed to compliment your home. We’re here to help protect our planet by creating simple and effective solutions that inspire everyone to make more sustainable choices.

The homecare industry generates more than 29 billion plastic containers each year and by 2050 there could be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Neat’s system takes single use plastic out of the mix and reduces CO2 emissions. Our formulas are vegan and cruelty free, using biodegradable and plant based ingredients. They clean brilliantly and our antibacterial products eliminate 99.9% of bacteria. We don’t want to preach or guilt trip, but rather bring solutions that inspire. As individuals we might not always feel we can impact the bigger picture, but we can decide how we clean our homes.

Sometimes the simplest solution is the best. Neat’s refillable system eliminates single use plastic. But it’s not just single use plastic we’re targeting: A typical bottle of cleaner is 90% water and less than 10% actual valuable ingredients. But we have access to water in our homes. That’s a lot of water being shipped around the world! Our concentrated refills remove the unnecessary water, and are packaged in materials that are widely recycled and will not end up in landfill or the ocean. Just add tap water at home for instant and convenient cleaning products. Cleaning served neat!

Our re-useable bottles are designed to work with the interior décor of a stylish home, not to be stashed under the sink. The lines are simple, clean and subtle. The silicon base allows for durability and a gentle landing on surfaces. Our bottle contains no single use plastic, is made from lightweight aluminium and with proper use, designed to last a lifetime. Sustainability never looked so good!

The concentrated plant based refill have fragrances designed for the modern home:

Mango & Fig – Fragrant and tropical with a hint of spicy, sweet fig.

Seagrass & Lotus – Marine top notes that are herbaceous and clean. With watery and lightly sweet middle notes and a floral base.

Grapefruit & Ylang ylang – A fresh modern citrus fragrance with top notes of grapefruit and pomelo and middle and base notes that are rich and light.

Sage & Mint – Fresh and cool, with subtle herby notes. Impactful and memorable, yet easy on the nose.

Yuzu Tea – Japanese yuzu is a citrus fruit somewhere between a lemon and a lime, so think fresh, zingy and uplifting.

Fragrance Free No allergens – For those who are sensitive to fragrance, but still want to make more sustainable choices.

Editors Notes

We are Neat. Meet the team:

Josie & Ryan met whilst working at Method/Ecover. Frustrated by the lack of solutions to the single use plastic crisis, they co-founded Neat. Using their combined experience in business strategy and product design they took on a BIG problem: Single use plastic and water waste in homecare products. Neat is disrupting the homecare industry with its sustainable refill system but also it’s approach to business: Simple. Real. Bold. Positive.

Ryan McSorley

Ryan is an award-winning industrial designer who has worked globally for brands such as Starbucks and more recently as Industrial Design lead for Method and Ecover in the EU.

“We have to think and behave differently to make a change. Whilst recycled plastics are a move in the right direction, they won’t solve the problem. We need solutions that are a radical step change in reducing single use plastic. At Neat., our beautiful design led solutions use aluminium and glass as primary material and avoid shipping water half way round the world.”

“A circular system gives us incredible design opportunities. No longer are we designing products to be put in the bin, we are creating them to be with us for years to come. Therefore, they have to be better than what exists. We have a long term relationship with them so we have to love and care for them. No longer can sustainability be a compromise.”

Josie Harfield

Josie is a passionate business leader with 15 years consumer goods experience in both large multinationals and SMEs such as Ella’s Kitchen, Pepsi Co., Method & Ecover. “Neat. has sustainability at its core, our brand is a solution to a problem that can step change the cleaning category. We are just getting started, our goals are: neat homes, neat planet, neat business. This is a really exciting time for us.”
